The Excel Club Mid-Atlantic, is comprised of Excel 5th wheel camper owners from Maine to Florida and
east of the Mississippi River. As more clubs are established in this area, we will redefine our boundaries. Our Club meets
twice yearly in the spring and in the fall. The Excel campers are manufactured by Peterson Industries of Smith Center Kansas.
This website is intended
to supply our members with club information, entertainment and a place to exchange ideas throughout the year.
We hope you enjoy it!

From Paul and Cheryl Stolze in Texas...We went to our first race of the year yesterday.
It was a rattlesnake race - yes, the snakes actually race. Only in Texas. These good ol' boys know how to
have fun. Drink beer and play with snakes. Here are a couple pics. Paul

Peterson Industries Host Dinner! by Paul & Cheryl StolzeOn February 20, 2008, Peterson
Industries hosted an Excel Owners Appreciation Luncheon at Victoria Palms Resort in Donna, TX. It was attended by approximately
400 Excel owners who call the Rio Grande Valley their winter home. The luncheon was hosted by Paul and Kay
Harrington. Paul made special mention of the Excel Club of the Mid-Atlantic -- in fact, we were the only club mentioned
-- and stressed that its members travel great distances to attend the meetings, i.e., an average of 500 miles to the Ohio
meeting. We thought this was nice of him to give our Club recognition since we were the only members of the Club present
(not to mention the only ones from Pennsylvania). A great lunch was served, door prizes awarded and a good time had
by all.

On The Road With Paul and Cheryl Stolze.. We have been traveling the Southwest
again this year. The beauty of this part of the country is breathtaking. We have seen the red rocks of Sedona,
taken a train ride through the Verde Canyon in Arizona, been at an altitude of over 10,000 feet above sea level to overlook
Albuquerque, and visited Santa Fe to see its unique architecture. Some of the best Southwestern food was consumed
in Las Cruces, NM. Paul and Mary Wells crossed our path in Arizona and we were fortunate to have some time to visit
with them. They are well and are once again proud grandparents. When we arrived in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas
around Christmas, we were greeted by friends we made here last year. From there we could visit a little town
in Mexico called Neuvo Progreso. A little excitement has been happening along the border of Texas and Mexico.
The Mexican government is cracking down on corrupt police departments and the drug cartels. As a result, the Mexican
army now has a very obvious presence in the border towns. Not to fear -- we can still have a wonderful meal and drinks
for under $20 including tip -- and the shopping isn't bad either. We'll be leaving the Rio Grande Valley soon
and hopefully heading for Corpus Christi, San Antonio and Austin. Our fondest wish is that everyone gets the chance
to do this - it can't be beat!

Dick and Barb Smith at Fort Wilderness
Hi club members, We are spending some time in Florida in the warmth and sun. We
have been at Fort Wilderness (sorry Barb and Daryl ) for 17 nights. Met up with Ralph and Cheryl Schey, showed them the campground,
and had dinner at the Trails End buffet. Also drove over to the east coast and visited Bob and Sharon Adgate. Nice visits
with both couples. Will stay in Florida until the first of April then start the slow journey north. Will be at James Island
County Park outside Charleston for a week. Have our reservations for the Outer Banks, so see you then.
